These have just been released and there is plenty of good news.
Total Crime has reduced by 280 to 5763 offences. That means 280 fewer victims of crime.
The details show that theft of and from vehicles have both reduced by 35 to 526 offences with an increase in detected offences from 30 to 81.
There was a slight increase in robbery, up 6 to 228 offences, with a similar small increase in dwelling burglary from 357 to 377 offences.
The detection rate for burglary doubled from 29 to 58 detected offences.
Violent crime reduced significantly, from 1689 to 1465 offences, with 551 of these offences being detected.
The aim for the next 12 months is to continue to reduce the number of crimes and increase the number of detections. We will do that, with your help.
