Neighbourhood Management

Changing St Peters in Leicester..? - You Bet !

Government Backed

Very few government backed schemes and initiatives can claim as much grassroots support as this one. The main reason being that people who live in areas like St Peters in Leicester have long had a genuine and deep seated wish to see the area in which they live attain to better standards

Social Housing should not mean second rate or poor standard housing. And yet it invariably does.

Why should the fact that people who live in areas run by local authority or housing trusts mean we should put up with things that our owner occupier counterparts on the whole do not.

Well now the Government has recognised this and has initiated the Housing Management Board scheme that will give residents more control over how the areas in which we live are run and will give us a forum in which to hold to account those agencies responsible for the management of the areas in which we live.

Greenscaping and Ground Maintainence

shrubs and tress in st peters leicester inner city estate and neighbourhood

The greenscaping in St Peters is the term some of us to describe the green areas such as grass, shrubs, trees and climbing plants such as Ivy.

St Peters is an area where the greenscaping, due to the decisions and work of previous councillors and heads of department at Leicester City Council is particularley verdant and pleasant.

However when one takes a closer look at it, what we see speaks of neglect, mismanagement and no management due to the decisions and oversight of current heads of certain departments and often councillors at Leicester City Council today. The truth of the matter is, is that where the greenscaping does look good, it is down to the work of previous generations at LCC rather than the current incumbents. And where it looks bad then it is simply down to the current decision makers and managers.

Quite a sweeping statement but is it tue? Lets take a closer look.
